FAMISHED FUTURE FEEDERS
In 2023 Robert the Cat engaged TAFE Queensland Acting graduate Jules Broun to write her first full-length play as part of Metro Art's 2024 Performance Season.
What followed is FAMISHED FUTURE FEEDERS, known as FFF for short!
Tragedy. Catastrophe. Hilarity.
Famished Future Feeders is a mildly bleak comedy about living and loving and hating and dying in an oddly utopian dystopia. Set in a bafflingly backwards yet ultra-advanced near-future, global famine, energy and environmental crises have been solved at the cost of limited freedom and human flesh. But life goes on to the everyday drumbeat of the humdrum.
Murder? Cannibalism? Torture?
Everyday humdrum.
An unrealistic but recognisable speculation on the bleak future of humanity on Earth, this play depicts a world that has both progressed and regressed by way of absurd yet practical logic.
